Rhizome Writing

words that take root and spread

At Rhizome Writing, we're not your typical writing consultant, and we're proud of that. Our niche is making complex environmental issues feel relatable, understandable, and actionable — for everyone, not just the already-convinced. Because the people most affected by environmental issues deserve words that speak to them, not at them.

Our roots run deep in education, environmental science, and community engagement — and that experience shapes everything we create. Whether it's a strategic plan, public outreach materials, or the internal communications that keep a team aligned, every piece we create starts with one question: who is this for, and what do they need?

Plain language, accessibility, representation, and community engagement are our core values, and we'd love to bring them to your next project.

Our role: writing and design

Words spread the way forests do. Not in straight lines, but through hidden connections. A message that truly resonates is like a rhizome: it travels quietly, underground, from person to person, until shoots break through somewhere unexpected — a kitchen table, a community meeting, a neighbor's porch. When people see themselves in a message, they don't just receive it; they carry it, tend it, and pass it on. That's how a conversation grows into a movement.
